Overview

Zenith is a privacy-focused note-taking application. We are committed to protecting your data and ensuring full transparency about how the app works.

Data We Collect

• Notes & Content: Stored only on your device. Never sent to our servers unless you explicitly use the Sync or Web Access features.
• App Preferences: Theme, settings, and configurations stored locally on your device.
• Sync Feature (optional): When you choose to transfer notes to another device, your notes are temporarily uploaded to our relay server (highgraphic.art) using a 6-digit one-time key. The data is deleted from the server immediately after the receiving device downloads it. If not downloaded, it is automatically deleted within 24 hours. Data is never linked to your identity.
• Web Access Feature (optional): When you choose to send your notes to the Zenith web app, your notes are temporarily held on our relay server and delivered to your browser session. The data is deleted from the server immediately after it is fetched. The server acts as a bridge only — notes are never permanently stored.
• AI Features (optional): If you choose to use AI-powered features, your content is sent directly to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI or Google) using your own API key. We do not receive or store this data.
• Voice Notes (optional): Audio recorded via the microphone is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted.

Location Data

Zenith does not collect, access, store, or share your location data for any purpose.

Previous versions of the app included a third-party plugin (@capacitor/background-runner) that declared location-related permissions in its internal configuration. These permissions were not used by the app and have been explicitly removed as of version 6.1. Zenith does not use location data in any feature.

Permissions Usage

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used only when you record a voice note. Audio is saved locally and never shared or uploaded.
• Internet (INTERNET): Used for optional note sync and web access features. Not used for advertising or tracking.
• Wi-Fi State (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE): Used to check network connectivity before attempting a sync or web transfer. No location or personal data is derived from this.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver reminders you set within the app.
• Exact Alarm (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used to ensure reminders fire at the exact time you specify.
• Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used to restore your scheduled reminders after the device restarts.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC): Used to keep sync and web transfer operations running reliably while the app is active.
• Vibrate (VIBRATE): Used to vibrate the device when a reminder notification fires.
• Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Used to keep the processor awake briefly during scheduled reminder delivery to ensure reliability.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data — Zenith does not access or use location in any way
• Contacts, camera, or background tracking
• Analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Advertising identifiers

Data Storage

All user data is stored locally on your device. Our relay server temporarily holds note data only during active sync or web transfer sessions. This data is deleted immediately after it is fetched by the receiving device, or within 24 hours if not retrieved.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties. AI features transmit data directly from your device to your chosen AI provider using your own API key — this data does not pass through our systems.

Security

All sync and web transfer communication uses HTTPS encryption. Data on our relay server is temporary and tied to a one-time key with no user identity. AI features use HTTPS encryption. All sensitive app data is stored using the device's built-in local storage protections.

User Control

• You can delete all your notes and data at any time from within the app.
• AI and sync features are fully optional and off by default.
• You can revoke any app permission at any time via your device settings.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
